Ahmadiah is an international contracting firm based in Kuwait and working as general contractors.
We have taken your address from the Internet and would appreciate if you could assist us in solving a technical problem in relation to wood flooring parquet.
We have 2cm thick Balau wood parquet flooring glued directly to external concrete surface. We have faced cracks and worping.
What type of wood should be recommended to be used in a 50 degree Celsius environment and what would be the related method of installation?

Dear Mr Elias, we are ready to assist you. First of all it depends on the many factors.What was the width and lenth of parquet planks???? What is the temperature at night???? What kind of glue did you use??? (water based, solvent based- please describe shortly its characteristics). We recommend to use the most solid and stable specie of wood - ipe\lapacho. The thicker and wider it will be the more stable it will lie. You should use reactive kind of adhesive (R) and to glue down or nail the parquet not directly to the concrete, but at least on the sub - floor construction as wooden lattice.
