  Art Parquet CatalogueMassive board parquet flooring
Massive board serves a good alternative to natural plank parquet but it has larger dimensions. Massive board simplifies and fasten the installation, creates the image of expensive, beautiful, and elite floor. Massive board parquet flooring looks better in big premises visually extending the area. The chamfer adds a special elegance, which is situated at the long sides of the board. Massive parquet boards are sold both prefinished and unfinished. Both in Russia and abroad modern massive board is produced by means of up-to-date equipment.
Main requirements:
According to the State Standard 862.1-85 about the parquet planks with the length up to 500 mm and strict requirements to geometrical parameters are not applicable to massive boards.
The State Standard 2695-83 «Saw-timber of deciduous species. Technical conditions» is applicable to hardwood deciduous products with the length more than 0.5 m. For the planks with the thickness up to 32 mm this standard regulates maximum thickness deviation ± 1,0 mm; with the width up to 100 mm maximum width deviation± 2,0 mm; with the width more than 100 mm - ± 3,0 mm. According to the wood quality saw-timber is divided into 3 grades. In the boards from 110 mm up to 200 mm of A grade live knots in the size of up to 20 mm are acceptable, but no more than 2 of each linear meter, as well as cracks at the face side up to 1/6 in depth and length in accordance to the thickness and length of the parquet board (with the exit to one butt - end). Mechanical defects and damages of the wood are acceptable within the deviations pointed above from the nominal dimensions. Dead knots are not acceptable. For the oak boards of A grade, sapwood up to 1/2 of the board’s thickness and 1/3 of its length is acceptable.
Boards’ warp is acceptable in the following dimensions:
- longitudinal – 0,5% of the length (i. å .10 mm for 2 m );
- diametrical – 1,0% of the width (i. å . 1,0 mm for 10 cm ).
The State Standard 8242-88 “Wood profile details and materials for construction”. It sets more strict requirements for the floor boards but is applied only on the products of certain profile, which are manufactured by our industry.
For comparison: maximum deviations from the nominal: ± 3 mm to the length of the board, ± 1 mm to the width and thickness; the warp no more than 3 mm to the length 1 m and 2 mm to the width not depending on its dimensions.
Massive boards’ grades:
